Tap to Circulate

Another useful tool for creating circulation in the body is tapping, which involves using our hands in a simple tapping sequence moving throughout the whole body.

The purpose of tapping is to awaken and move our stuck and stagnant energies by tapping the body’s meridian system and acupressure points

Tapping can help you to release stress and anxiety, let go of body and emotional tension and increase your energy. Tapping is considered a qigong basic practice.

Through tapping you can also direct your attention. So a basic principle in qigong is “where the mind goes energy flows.” So as we are tapping we are also pulling our attention, and therefore energy, to the various different parts of our body, increasing blood and energy circulation in those areas to enable our body’s natural ability to heal itself and feel good.

Often our energy is stuck up in our heads, so through tapping we are also redistributing our energy throughout the entire body. When our energy is more evenly distributed in the body and flowing well, we will naturally feel lighter, refreshed and reinvigorated.

Tapping is great to do in the morning to wake the body up or in the afternoon as a pick-me up.

Benefits:

  • Feel invigorated and refreshed

  • Distribute energy throughout the body
