Balanced & Grounded

It is well-known that practices such as Qigong and Tai Chi help to improve your balance. But do you know why? It is because these practices offer effective exercises that help bring energy flow into the legs, which can be missing if we do not exercise regularly and if we do not focus on it.

Modern life is spent with most of our attention and energy in the upper body and sometimes predominantly in the head. As we age, if we don’t do anything about that, we will notice the effects of this. We can lose circulation to our feet, and we can have trouble with walking. And this is not just a strength issue, it is also an issue related to energy flow and having a deeper sense of our lower body.

Qigong movements, especially involving shifting weight, lunging and walking meditations, combined with grounding exercises can help reprogram your brain to improve the mind-body connection to the lower body which then supports you feeling and being more balanced.

Being grounded starts from the core and moves down the legs into the Earth. So by doing exercises and focusing on the lower body, we can improve our balance.

Benefits:

  • Feel warm and energized

  • Increase energy flow to the lower body

  • Be more grounded and connected to the earth
